Trellis for Tomorrow receives a $30,000 grant award from the Foxwynd Foundation to support its Agricultural Learning Center at Lundale Farm in Pottstown, PA
Phoenixville, PA JANUARY 2026 – Trellis for Tomorrow is honored to partner with the Foxwynd Foundation and is grateful to receive a $30,000 grant award. This funding, provided through the Foxwynd Foundation’s Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), will be used to support Trellis’ teaching farm, the Agricultural Learning Center (ALC) located at Lundale Farm in Pottstown, PA.
“We are honored to support Trellis for Tomorrow through the SEED Skills Matching Gift grant. At the Foxwynd Foundation, we believe in the power of equipping individuals with the skills and opportunities they need to create positive change in their communities. We are excited to see the transformative impact this grant will help achieve.” — Pamela Villagra, Executive Director, Foxwynd Foundation
Establishing sustainable local food systems and community gardening initiatives in Pottstown is essential to addressing systemic poverty and food insecurity. In response to community need for accessible, locally grown food and support for resident-led growing efforts, Trellis partnered with Lundale Farm in 2023. The ALC offers individuals and organizations hands-on exposure to innovative, sustainable urban agricultural systems they can replicate in their own communities, along with training in basic management techniques. Funding from the Foxwynd Foundation will support completion of the next phase of expansion of this work, doubling grow space, adding experiential learning opportunities, and as well as an indoor, climate controlled grow space.
“We are privileged to be a recipient of Foxwynd Foundation and their Board of Trustees’ commitment to building solutions to the region’s systemic challenges, including food insecurity. We feel that the time is right for individuals and communities to have more control over their own food supply. As one small step towards this future that includes more, self sufficient, sustainable communities, we are optimistic that the Agricultural Learning Center can become a leading example for education and advancement of urban and innovative agricultural practices.” – Jennifer Anderson, Executive Director, Trellis for Tomorrow
Now in its 22nd year of service, Trellis for Tomorrow provides highly impactful programming at the intersection of youth workforce readiness, food justice, and environmental sustainability for communities in the Greater Philadelphia Region. Evolving into a regional leader in developing sustainable local food systems, in 2025 alone, Trellis delivered paid work experience to over 80 youth, managed 48 active local gardens and hydroponic systems, and provided over 60,000 pounds of organic produce to food-insecure individuals and families. Since its inception, Trellis has impacted over 1 million meals for households in the region by donating over a quarter of a million pounds of fresh, nutrient-dense, organic produce. Additionally, by utilizing community-centered gardens as living classrooms, Trellis provides hands-on, experiential programs for historically underrepresented youth – programs that inspire participants to become positive agents of change in their own lives and to build healthy, sustainable, secure communities around them.
