All are welcome, ages 12 and up. Minors (youth ages 12 to 17) must be accompanied by an adult. No gardening experience necessary! Note that some gardens are not ADA accessible. Our Lundale location does not have any stairs or steps but there are uneven surfaces such as woodchips and soil. Please reach out to us in advance with questions.

Group Size

Minimum 8 registrants, Maximum 20 people; capacity is determined by tools, parking, staff, location, and project availability

Group Supplies

Trellis for Tomorrow will provide tools and gloves, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

"It was wonderful to meet the Trellis crew yesterday. Please keep up the good work. Organizations like yours keep my faith that all is well in the world."

What To Expect

Projects can include planting, garden maintenance, greenhouse improvements, or small construction projects—all while enjoying the great outdoors!

Dress in layers appropriate for the temperature and insects. You may spend time on uneven ground around garden tools, so protect your feet in sturdy, closed-toed shoes. No flip flops or sandals, please! We also recommend packing a full water bottle, a hat, insect repellent, and sunscreen.

Dates & Times

Dates: Spring, Summer, and Fall (March-November) are ideal times for volunteer projects. We require 6-12 weeks of notice to plan and schedule an event.

Time: Most group projects last about 2 to 3 hours and can be scheduled between 9 AM and 4 PM.

Locations

Many projects will take place at Lundale Farm in Pottstown (Chester County), although we have several additional garden spaces that can accommodate groups depending on the time of year.

About the Event

Do I Need To Do Anything Before The Event?
All volunteers must complete a waiver before participating in an event. If this will be your first event with Trellis this calendar year, please complete a waiver online or plan to complete one in-person before the event begins.

Will There Be A Restroom On-Site?

Many of our events are at Lundale Farm, which has a portable toilet on-site. For events at other locations, Trellis will share more information about restroom access prior to the event.

Cancellation Policy

Scheduled volunteer events may be cancelled in cases of rain or extreme weather. Trellis will notify all volunteers with as much notice as possible.

"The event was well planned, well organized, and the amount of work was appropriate for the time we were there."
